Netherworld Haunted House Georgia
Five of the haunted lighthouses are in Michigan on land by or islands in the Great Lakes bordering the state. Four are in New England; four in other East Coast States. Three are on the Pacific Coast.
Michigan’s Haunted Lighthouses
Many people have heard a woman's screams during the night from the ghost of a lightkeeper’s wife who was locked up in the tower years ago in Old Presque Isle Lighthouse, in Presque Isle, off Michigan’s Lake Huron shore. George Parris’ specter is another haunter. He and his wife moved into the keeper's cottage in the 1990s to operate its museum and give tours. Since George died, the light in the tower turns itself on at dusk and goes off at dawn daily, after the light was permanently disabled. Air National Guard pilots have reported seeing the light after the Coast Guard removed it from the tower.
One of the keepers, Captain Joseph Townsend, is believed to haunt Seul Choix Lighthouse, now a museum, in Gulliver, Michigan overlooking Lake Michigan.
